Diyas:
  • Time to take out the diyas from the last season.
  • Soak the mud / clay / terracotta diyas in water for some time and let them dry out well in the sum (Damp diyas consume more oil. So make sure they are really dry)
  • Try your hand at painting the diays both on the inside and the outside. Use vibrant colors – Bring on the Reds and Greens.
  • You can make paper lanterns on your own or get them from market. They are not on the expensive decorations list
  • To make floating diyas, all you need are a Glass cup, some flowers and small candles. They make excellent table setting decoration!
  • Try investing in beautiful candle holders. They can be reused year and year again. Place painted diays on them instead of candles.
